Marco Simoncelli and Monster Energy are set for a hair-raising season as they partner ahead of the 2010 MotoGP opener in Qatar
Monster Energy and MotoGP rookie Marco Simoncelli announce a partnership, which will see the Italian two wheel star rock the M-claw on his lid for his first season in the premier class of motorcycle racing.
Qatar 10th April 2010 – Monster Energy are proud to unveil the latest addition to its legendary two wheel family as Marco Simoncelli joins the Monster Army in time for his MotoGP debut. Well known for his unyielding lust for racing and the ability to enjoy himself on and off a bike, Marco and Monster make an obvious match and are set to turn heads over the course of the season.
Whether it’s his style of riding, the hairdo or his already huge character that takes the headlines, there’s little doubt that Marco belongs here. Having started winning 125cc races aged 17, Marco started climbing the ladder to stardom the moment he straddled his first machine and is now ready to be a part of the spectacle of bike racing’s premier class. His opening season in the top flight is set to be an explosive combination of great riding plus good fun and his natural appeal to fans worldwide draws more than a little comparison with the legend that is Valentino Rossi – a fellow Monster Energy rider.
“I think Marco’s energy and sheer passion for racing is a massive addition to the sport and reflects so much about what we want to achieve within GP” commented , Marketing Director of Monster Energy Europe. “With the likes of Valentino, Tech 3, Aleix Espargaro and now Marco part of the family we’re looking forward to another great year of entertainment in MotoGP and it’s junior classes, where our riders are also challenging for titles”.
“The step into MotoGP is a huge moment in my racing career and I’m buzzing about getting the season started in Qatar…” added Marco “I know there’s a lot to achieve still but I’m super grateful that I have the best possible support from Monster Energy. I like their style and I think we can balance some serious racing with fun.”
